Sensu Stricto, latin for “in the strict sense”. The phrase “sensu”, as a citation, indicates that the intended meaning is the one defined by the author. An example in biology would be when a researcher suspects a species identification, but needs to communicate to readers that s/he is unsure. In this piece, I use sensu in a visual capacity, with two slice samples of the digital abstraction I have explored.
